Abstract
Purpose: This study aims to elucidate the influence of relationship between stress and health promotion behavior by using self-care agency and resilience as a mediation.

Method: To this end, this study collected the dada for 148 adult with more than 1 or two risk factors for metabolic syndrome. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson¡¯s correlation coefficient and the PROCESS Macro for SPSS 23.0 to verify the multiple mediated effect with a parallel structure.

Result: The major finding of this study were as follow; the average score of stress, self-care agency, resilience, health promotion behavior were 1.97(range 1-5), 4.48(range 1-6), 2.28(range 0-4) and 2.44(range 1-4). Stress was negatively correlated with health promotion behavior(r=-.26, p<.001), and self-care agency(r=.61, p<.001) and resilience(r=.56, p<.001) was positively correlation with health promotion behavior. As a result of verifying the effect of parallel multi-mediation, it was found that the mediating effect of self-care agency and resilience on the relationship between the stress and health promotion behavior was significant.

Conclusion: The result of study will be helpful to enhance the understanding of metabolic syndrome risk group health promotion behavior, and can be used as basic data for developing programs for health promotion activities.
